Lise Prewitt

Lise began her Pilates certification in 1996 at the Physicalmind Institute and completed it along with a Pilates-based rehabilitation certification with Ellie Herman in 2001.  She was introduced to movement and anatomy as a child and majored in biology and chemistry while continuing to study and perform modern dance. She has taught for both Ellie Herman’s and Balanced Body’s Pilates teacher training programs, is currently in the Masters Program at The Pilates Center in Boulder, CO, is a certified MELT Hand and Foot teacher, and works with Pilates instructors as a mentor.

Lise draws on her expansive teaching experience and knowledge of other movement modalities, her own healing from a car accident, her deep understanding of anatomy and biomechanics, her keen observation of posture and alignment, her love of athletics and movement, and her intuitive sense of the body. With a generous and supportive spirit, she embraces work with all ages and fitness levels--from athletes and dancers to people who have neurological conditions or are recovering from stroke, injuries, or trauma. Lise guides them all to their own better awareness and practice with her skill, intelligence, warmth, humor, and unfailing encouragement.
